i am currently in the process of developing my store concept , so spend most of my free time looking at blogs, shops, magazines and museums.so i found these over at the the Metropolitan Museum's website and fell in love with their simplicity. sharp tailoring, soft fabrics and the details, the length every thing is so balanced. so i thought well January always seems like a good time to do a wardrobe detox. to strip back the layers to go back to the basics but heres the funny thing, instead of clearing my wardrobe i ended up clearing my room ha ha.. hey its easier getting rid of cushions than last years clogs.

I cannot for the life of me remember where I. found these two images but I have been

obsessed with them lately. I love the muted palette and the surreal element in both pictures

especially the second one. I am currently running around like a mad man trying to open up

my vintage web shop. its taking forever designing the site finding stock, changing tax returns

and juggling all these with my current 9-5 plus trying to find suitable gifts for every one...yish!!

but I suppose it shall all be worth it in the end. cannot wait for 2012.

You see i have always wanted to be a tomboy. i like the bad ass girls with their ripped tees and destroyed jeans. looking cool in their dads old sweaters and boyfriends blazers. that's all good and well but alas i am curvy. i don't mean that in a derogatory way mind... i mean i have a mostly hourglass sometimes pear shape figure. which lends its self more to the femme fatale rather than La Garçonne. what's the problem you ask? this season celebrates androgyny as well as Marilyn in latex .i guess i want it all. i want to do a full on minimal mod androgynous look but i also want to play with the shiny lacy stuff (but it all looks scary). i thought a flat white brogue might be the a nod towards the mod without leaving me looking like a rectangle with the sides stretched out by the hips.ha ha.

on another note this is what I shall be wearing tomorrow to work then going to late night shopping and drinks with the girls at Westfield. xx scisi xx

I recently purchased my first Celine item. sadly it is not

the above bag... a girl can dream right? No it is a lovely blue

and white vintage jacket i found in a charity shop.. i thought

my heart was content until two weeks later i stumbled

upon another Celine find this time a pair of double platform

boots arghh..i thought my little fashion heart died and went

to heaven but sadly the boots despite being my size do not fit

because i am unfortunately blessed with big calves.and so they

will be also coming up for sale as well in the new year

when the Mutima shop opens.

In this book is an essay by Zygmunt Bauman called Modernity and Ambivalence, It has to be one of my favorite pieces of writing. it is a text which changed the way in which i saw the world or rather helped me in trying understand and articulate my positioning in the world. i find it very influential in my art practice as well as my writing. i thought i would share with you some snippets from the text...

I thought i would start a new section on the blog about art that i like. and exhibitions and events i have been to see. today after work i rushed off to The White Chapel Gallery in London, for the first time since their re-fit. i must say it seems twice as big as it was before..but any way i went specifically to see the Mona Hatoum piece CURRENT DISTURBANCE because i am writing about her work for my dissertation, i took many pictures so more images and a video from the installation coming up soon-ish plus a write up.
